Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Newmen Ltd. is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.

It is a priority of Newmen Ltd. to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030. Although we have always been conscious of our impact on the environment we want to make this more formal with procedures in place to measure and manage our impact. We have highlighted our impacts and set in place our policies to achieve our goal of net zero emissions by 2030. We are aiming to be measuring all emissions using the required methodology by 2024.

Environmental impacts

At Newmen Ltd. we have been identifying the environmental impacts of our organisation and below we have listed the areas which we feel directly impact the environment as a result of our operations.

• Gas & electric used in our warehouse to ensure the environment is suitable for both products and staff

• Couriers to send and receive stock.

• Commuting to work

• Packaging used to ship products to customers or received when ordering from suppliers

• Domestic waste from staff when at the warehouse.

Actions to support the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

• All staff are working from home on a full time basis with laptops instead of desktop computers. This reduces our greenhouse gases with less driving to work and less energy used than a full time office using the mains electricity. 

• In our storage unit we have replaced all old bulbs with energy efficient LED bulbs and installed a sensor so the lights only turn on with motion.

• We do not purchase any boxes or packaging and reuse everything from our suppliers. Any waste is recycled.

• With the success of the contract we aim to increase our stock holding to reduce deliveries from our overseas suppliers.

• We use local couriers where possible to reduce the mileage each parcel travels on the way to its destination

• All office consumables and equipment is purchased from the same supplier resulting in fewer deliveries.

• We aim to use all Net Zero suppliers by 2040 for all areas of the business including stock, transport and packaging.

On top of the measures in place to reduce our carbon footprint we will also support a charity that aligns with eco-friendly goals. We have chosen ‘One Tree Planted’ who are a specific organisation which focuses on different aspects of the earth which have been affected by global warming. We will ensure we donate enough trees to result in net zero carbon emissions by 2025.
